Day 1

If you're interested in history, visit the Gulangyu Piano Museum, which houses a collection of over 100 pianos from around the world. You can also take a stroll through the Shuzhuang Garden, a beautiful seaside garden that was built in the early 20th century.

Day 2

On the second day, head to the south of Xiamen Island to visit the famous Hulishan Fortress. This fortress was built in the late 19th century to protect Xiamen from foreign invaders and is now a popular tourist attraction. You can explore the fortress and climb to the top of the cannon tower for panoramic views of the sea.

After visiting the fortress, head to Huandao Road, a scenic coastal road that runs along the southern coast of Xiamen Island. You can rent a bike and cycle along the road, stopping at beaches and scenic spots along the way.

Day 3

On the third day, visit the Xiamen Botanical Garden, which is located in the north of Xiamen Island. This garden covers an area of 5 square kilometers and is home to over 6,000 species of plants. You can take a leisurely stroll through the garden, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and learn about the plants and flowers that grow there.

After visiting the botanical garden, head to the Nanputuo Temple, a famous Buddhist temple that dates back to the Tang Dynasty. This temple is located on the slopes of Wulao Peak and offers stunning views of Xiamen and the sea.

Day 4

On the fourth day, take a day trip to the nearby island of Quanzhou. Quanzhou is a historic port city that was an important center of trade and culture during the Tang and Song dynasties. You can visit the Kaiyuan Temple, one of the oldest and most important Buddhist temples in China, and the Maritime Museum, which tells the story of Quanzhou's maritime history.

After exploring Quanzhou, head back to Xiamen and visit the famous Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. This street is lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes, and is a great place to shop for souvenirs or try some local snacks.

Day 5

On your final day in Xiamen, visit the famous Nanjing Tulou, a unique type of fortified village that is found in the mountainous regions of Fujian Province. These villages were built by the Hakka people and are known for their distinctive circular or rectangular buildings. You can visit the Chuxi Tulou Cluster, which is one of the best-preserved Tulou clusters in Fujian.

After visiting the Tulou, head back to Xiamen and spend the evening at the famous Zhongshan Park. This park is located in the heart of Xiamen and is a popular spot for locals to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can take a stroll around the park, watch the locals practicing tai chi or dancing, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
